TAPA TSR LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATION AS HIGH VALUE CARRIER

Protecting the goods of our customers is a new, difficult challenge of our times and only a few logistics companies are currently able to provide optimum protection here. Several companies avoid the difficult certification procedure and simply emphasize their membership in the TAPA association. As Jürgen Georgi notes, everyone can become a TAPA member, but that does not provide permission to professionally handle particularly endangered shipments.
GEORGI Transporte, the carrier from Burbach, has gone through a very special type of certification. The Transported Asset Protection Association, TAPA, is an association of international manufacturers, logistics services providers and other participants, with the objective to avoid losses within the delivery chain. According to the EU, companies suffer annual losses of around 9 billion euros annually due to the theft of high value products. Organized gangs increasingly steal complete cargoes of high-value goods and/or complete Trucks.
"To counteract this criminality, we decided in August 2011, to invest in special security precautions," says the CEO of GEORGI Transporte, Jürgen Georgi. Since November 2011, we have achieved the special security requirements according to TAPA Regulations “TSR Level 1” and have gained “FSR Class A “certification from TÜV Rheinland. The special requirements for the vehicles are only a part of the preconditions to be fulfilled.
"In the meantime, our office building resembles a high-security wing, with all the refinements," Georgi reveals. Even so, he does not intend to say anything more about the specific procedures. The confidential nature of the implemented procedures is of course a major constituent of our security concept. "Only a few, trustworthy senior executives have an insight of the complete security plan," explains Jürgen Georgi. Georgi is only willing to say: “We are equipped so that we can transport highly sensitive goods with absolute safety within Europe. State-of-the-art technology enables us to monitor without interruption a shipment from the time of loading until it is unloaded. Qualified staff, professional partners and specially trained drivers know what to do in an emergency.
If something is especially critical, or where requested by our client, we can also provide an armed guard within a very short period of time. This certification and membership in TAPA is a further trademark for our quality and reliability,” Jürgen Georgi proudly emphasizes. Protecting the goods of our customers is a new, difficult challenge of our times and only a few logistics companies are currently able to provide optimum protection here. Several companies avoid the difficult certification procedure and simply emphasize their membership in the TAPA association. As Jürgen Georgi notes, everyone can become a TAPA member, but that does not provide permission to professionally handle particularly endangered cargoes. With certification according to TAPA regulations, GEORGI Transporte is currently one of the few logistics service providers that can ensure transport and cargo safety at the highest level.
